Produced by Dave Brunskill of Animha Productions a follow up film about the pupils of Whitecliffe Primary School in the East Cleveland village of Carlin How producing their own film about the river Tees. The film features the pupils at work in the classroom intercut with them researching it by visiting a number of locations along the Tees including the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge, Natures World with its recreation of the river and miniature versions of its bridge, the Tees Estuary and Tees Barrage. Dawn at Whitecliffe Primary School on Mill Lane in the village of Carlin How. Title: Whitecliffe Primary School Title: The Making of ‘Tees’ Inside the school a large hall part of which is blocked off by library shelves. In the foreground six pupils sit at a table working on their animations, in the background another class comes into the room for their lesson with a teacher singing a version of the hymn ‘Lord of the Dance’. Some of those working on the animations use felt-tip pens to colour in their drawings, others sit on the floor working out how the animation will work. The Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge reflected in the waters of the river Tees. Nearby pupils from Whitecliffe Primary School gathered around near the bridge itself looking out across the Tees, one girl using a pair of binoculars. At Natures World in Middlesbrough the school group look at miniature versions of some of the bridges crossing the Tees cutting back to the school where pupils continue to work on their animation. At the Tees Estuary many of the pupils sit on a wall looking out to sea. A man points out to some of them Hartlepool Nuclear Power Station across the water. A ship leaves the Tees for the North Sea. Back in the school some of the pupils play with various percussion instruments which will be used to provide the music to their film. The school visit arrives at the Tees Barrage at Stockton-on-Tees with pupils watching canoeists navigating the white-water course and watching the waters of the Tees flow over the barrage itself. Back in the classroom a boy and girl work together to animation a sequence from their film using a camera on a tripod connected to a monitor. More pupils appear to assist. As a girl uses a pair of keys to play a xylophone the film changes to the pupils still exploring Natures World following a stream which represents the Tees. Back in the classroom pupils playing several different percussion instruments.
