A promotional film made for prospective Durham Police Cadets of a passing-out parade at Hardwick Camp, Sedgefield and the Police training college a Newby Wiske Hall in North Yorkshire.
The film opens with a man reading the programme for the Police Cadet Open Day that is being held at Hardwick Camp, Sedgefield on the 12 July 1971.
Cadets in uniform and caps with blue trim march onto a parade ground. Around the sides sit family and invited guests.

A number of male cadets take part in an obstacle race. One of the cadets is carrying a full rucksack as he comes out of a concrete pipe.
The cadets on motorcycles drive slowly past the Chief Constable.
