This film documents the Bradford Police Inspection at Peel Park in 1949. Lt-Col Frank Brook (1883-1960), one of HM Inspectors of Constabulary for England and Wales from 1935-1953 an ex-Army officer and former chief constable of the Southport, Nottingham and West Riding forces, inspects a parade of uniformed officers of the Bradford City Police. This film documents the Bradford Police Inspection at Peel Park in 1949. Lt-Col Frank Brook (1883-1960), one of HM Inspectors of Constabulary for England and Wales from 1935-1953 an ex-Army officer and former chief constable of the Southport, Nottingham and West Riding forces, inspects a parade of uniformed officers of the Bradford City Police. The Chief Constable of Bradford City Police from 1940 to 1957, Herbert Spencer Price (1892-1976) and various civic dignitaries, including the Lord Mayor George T. Meggison, accompany Brook. Price joined the Bradford City Police as a constable in 1912 and was promoted through the ranks, which was very unusual for the time period.

The film opens with a shot of a drummer followed by mounted police. The police force assembles, and there are more shots of the mounted police. The police then begin to parade, and three women are at the end of the line. One of them wears sergeant's stripes.

There are shots of the trumpeters and spectators who have come out for the event.
Title - H.M. Inspector, accompanied by the Lord Mayor, the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Watch Committee and the Chief Constable inspects the Force.
The Inspector begins to walk through the officers who stand at attention. They acknowledge the women P.C.s, and there is a close up of the various dignitaries at the event. There is a review of the mounted police, the mobile police, and part of the special units. This is followed by more footage of the spectators.

Various sergeants can be seen as they march past in a slow march, and there is a close up of Sir Frank Brook.

A brass band leads the march, and the mounted police force is at the rear of the parade.

Spectators are seated and standing, watching from the side-lines. There is more footage of the marching force.

Standing in front of a microphone, the Inspector addresses the officers.

The policemen salute, and the spectators can be seen.
