A film that shows 'Holidays at Home' in Lister Park, Bradford and school plays and a pageant at Frizinghall Primary School. The film opens with people sitting on deckchairs in front of a wooden stage in Lister Park, The Mayor, Cecil Barnett, the Mayoress, and other dignitaries are seated on the stage and make speeches to the crowd. A military band is playing on stage. Next is a black and white sequence inside Frizinghall Primary School near Bradford which shows performances in the school hall where children and parents are gathered. A Gala Queen sits on a throne whilst courtiers sit on the floor. They are all dressed in costume. Two drummer boys come up through the crowd and then another makes a speech from the stage. Small girls dressed as fairies dance in a circle, while a teacher who crouches down on the floor directs the children. The final performance is a mock wedding with a small girl in a wedding dress, a groom, bridesmaids and best man. Outside in the playground, a fancy dress parade takes place involving many of the children. The adults either help to supervise or watch the children. A family are filmed in a residential street where a small boy is being shown how to ride a bicycle. Women play bowls in a park on the outskirts of Bradford, whilst a small group of people watch. The film then moves back to Lister Park where children are playing on swings and slides and the boating lake is also seen. The same family are seen standing by a car with a soldier.
