An amateur film made by John Dickinson as part of a project by the Stockton Cine Club, which records the annual National Caravan Club Rally taking place in the 60s either at Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire or Longleat in Wiltshire.
The film opens on a photographic shop window and a display inside. A brick is thrown through the window and a pair of hands remove a box. The sequence of the box being removed is repeated.
The film changes to show a caravan being driven onto a track followed by it stationary in a field. The film cuts to a man walking across a service station car park towards two caravans parked nearby.
A caravan drives carefully along a road passing large crowds walking past. A marquee has been erected on the grass beside the road.
A crowd sit listening to a man and then a woman making speeches from a platform. A second man comes onto the platform and shakes hands with the couple. A number of triangular Caravan Club flags flutter gently on poles in the background.
A woman approaches and kisses the cheek of a man standing in front of a traditional wooden caravan that is on display.
On a show field, a large crowd watches as a series of caravans are driven over bumpy ground and perform reversing manoeuvres between a series of flags. Judges stand nearby watching each of the competitors.
General views of a large caravan site shows caravans parked in rows, some with awning, and people walking about. A small boy sits on a hill as a woman walks down towards the camera. A group of people sit on deckchairs outside a caravan chatting happily while drinking tea and eating food being offered on plates. This is followed by another larger group sitting around a flag pole from which a Caravan Club flag flies. A man in a striped jumper speaks to those around the flag pole.
Back on the platform seen previously a man gives another speech to a larger seated crowd. Sitting on the table in front of him are a number of silver trophies. A woman in red presents prizes to a number of winners before giving a speech. Another woman walks through the crowd.
The film cuts to a car and caravan hooked up in a field surrounded by other caravans parked in a row. The film ends on a man walking toward camera carrying a stripy umbrella walking and pointing at another caravan.
