This is a film of York, showing the city centre and a charity pram parade in a housing area. It isn’t known where the title ‘Collacoats’ derives from.
The film begins in a housing area where there is a charity pram event, with men in fancy dress, some dressed as women. Traffic is going along a main road. The film follows a man in a blazer walking along and crossing the road towards the camera. Following this is more footage of the pram parade. One man is dressed in the kit of Hull Kingston Rovers Rugby Club. He is carrying a flag with Wembley written on it. Then there is a view towards York Minster from Lendal Bridge.
The film switches to the centre of York, outside Browns, where cyclists and shoppers pass by. There is also a shot looking down Stonegate followed by footage around the Minster and Monk Bar. The film returns to the housing area, filming the local people on the streets, flats, and a pub.
