Title – Salem boys camp 1958
Intertitle – Brief glimpses of the boys on the mountains. Morning hike, while Cliff does the work.
The party are gathered for their walk, and then they set off. An adult leader is turning a handle below a barrel. The boys are out swimming and splashing each other in a river. Two riders cross a river at a low point on motorcycles. Three women sit on the bank of the river with other adults.
Intertitle – Lunch time at Grange in Borrowdale.
The boys are all sitting on a patch of grass near a road sign and a river with a bridge. Here, they sit and have their lunch before walking along a country road and again stopping for a rest. They continue their walk, arriving at the foot of a mountain, and are then seen sitting on some rocks admiring the view. They make their way up the mountain, stopping for a rest. Then a group of them are shown waiting on Braithwaite Railway Station.
The film switches to show a group of people playing on some moors near a stream. Then boys and girls are splashing each other in a river. A man with a pipe is shown close up. A group of women sit watching the boys in the river. They walk back to two large hunts situated below a wooded hill. A group of boys and adults walk off, and a young man washes clothes in a bowl, hanging them on a line. Some boys sit peeling potatoes. Others attach their bags to the roof of a car.
