This is a film from the Michael Hobson collection of children from the Salem Sunday School in Leeds.  The film features their annual camping holiday to the Lake District. Intertitle – The Arrival The scouts arrive at a camping site. Intertitle – Our first excursion Lake Coniston The boys sit and stand around the edge of the lake. Intertitle – Refreshment They all get ice creams between wafers.  Some of the boys play with a dog, and there is an elderly couple. Intertitle – Tarn Hows The scouts sit in a field overlooking the tarn, one of them looking through binoculars. Intertitle – After a wet night The scouts hang out their belongings to dry. Intertitle – Was he shirty One boy is wearing a white shirt and pants. Intertitle – Playtime The boys engage in various activities. Intertitle – Cricket: our camp v the Boys’ Brigade The boys line up for the camera, and there ensues a cricket game (some overexposed).  The boys then march off, single file. Intertitle – The Boss Shops One of the leaders comes out of a shop. Intertitle – The Big Chief Chats Another leader is talking to someone, and then the boys go on a walk to a waterfall. Intertitle – The Boys The boys pose in a group for the camera. Intertitle – Surrounding scenes from camp site. The camp site, with the tents, and the surrounding area are shown. Intertitle – The boys have a dip. The boys swim in a river, or possibly Lake Coniston. Intertitle – Relaxation The boys sit on the river, or lake, bank taking in the sun. Intertitle – What a stew again The boys are all sitting along a long table where they eat the stew. Intertitle – The County Game There is a game of cricket. Intertitle – And this is how it is done. There is some action shots of bowling and batting, and the cricket team pose for the camera, before there is more cricket action. Intertitle – The “Boss” Hurries One of the leaders is shown bowling in slow motion. Intertitle – Off for the day A group of boys head off from the camp for a hike. Intertitle – Busy with the chores A boy is busy with some chore, and then a leader has a shave and wash.  The next sequence until the end is overexposed, with some film of the boys collecting things from the ground and then doing high jumping.
