Part of the Newton Collection, this film is a document of different family activities including a trip to the seaside as well as a wedding and reception in Sheffield.
The film opens with a family loading luggage into their car. Following this, a young girl is walking along a seaside promenade - unknown location. Two women walk in a garden/park area. Next, there are scenes from a boat as the family takes a boat trip. Many of the passengers are smiling, and it appears everyone is having an enjoyable time.
The next portion of the film takes place at a wedding. The wedding party are gathered for photographs outside the Sheffield Registry Office, locally known as 'The Wedding Cake'. The wedding party and guests then make their way to the Peace Gardens for more photographs. Following this is the wedding reception. It takes place in a recreational hall, but the interior shots are quite cark and provide little detail.
The family have taken a holiday, and the next scenes are of the harbour and seaside at Brixham. The beach is full of people, and there are many boats docked on the harbour. The surrounding houses of the town can also be seen in addition to footage taken at a visit to the zoo. The family are walking on the promenade and the film closes with shots of nearby boats.
