Made by Geoffrey Willey, this film featured footage taken as part of his work with the Institute of Seaweed Research in Scotland.  It includes footage of the Institute of Seaweed Research in 1955,  diving at North Berwick in 1954, and diving at Orkney, underwater footage and men collecting seaweed for research purposes.   The film beings with a shot of a stone gateway with a sign stating: ‘Institute of Seaweed Research’. Views of the driveway to the Inveresk Gate house where the Institute of Seaweed Research is based, with views of the garden and outbuildings. Geoffrey is on a boat preparing to go dive at North Berwick.  He gets help from a man to get into his diving suit and apparatus before getting into the water and is handed his underwater camera. He is then shown filming whilst swimming underwater.   Cuts to footage that was taken under the water. Very dark and unclear but shows examples of seaweed and fish.  Then back to more footage of Geoffrey swimming underwater with the camera. Geoffrey gets back onto the boat.  This is followed by several shots of Geoffrey getting back in and then out of the water.  Footage shows the apparatus used on the boat to harvest seaweed.  (Colour) Geoffrey on a different occasion at Orkney, is show getting his diving suit and apparatus on. The boat has a sign saying: ‘Institute of Seaweed Research’.  This time another man is accompanying Geoffrey into the water. There are more clips of Geoffrey filming underwater with his camera, before more underwater footage is again shown.
