TITLE: A Holiday at Bournemouth July 1937 TITLE: The White Hermitage The film opens with a series of unconnected shots taken in Bournemouth: there are cars circling a roundabout, an elderly couple sitting under a parasol, a woman playing with children in a garden, TITLE: Views from Hotel There are then views of the cars on the road from a hotel window and a man directing traffic in the street. TITLE: The Gardens. There are a series of shots of couples and families walking in a park. Children are also shown playing in a watery area in the park, in addition to shots of fountains in the park and men and women playing croquet. TITLE: At the Front. People walk along the promenade. Title: On the Beach There are shots of children playing in the sea and adults relaxing in deckchairs. Title: On the Pier People play competitive games of shuffleboard and drafts on the pier. Title: In the Town A man in a white coat directs traffic as it rushes past the camera. TITLE: A Trip to Southampton A series of shots are taken on a boat trip: there are moving shots of the shore from the boat, families sat on the deck, and other boats are sailing nearby.  TITLE: A Visit to Lulworth Cove People leave a boat and go onto a small beach. This is followed by families walking on large rocks on the beach. TITLE: At Beaulieu Abbey People walk around the exterior of a ruined abbey.  TITLE: Miscellaneous Shots There are a collection of shots that are very similar, if not the same, as the shots that were seen at the start of the film. There are shots of cars going around a roundabout, people walking in a park, friends playing croquet, families sat on the beach, people playing shuffleboard, and views from a boat and a hotel window. TITLE: Scarborough Shots of seaside fairground amusements, rides and sports are shown together. There are children’s rides, couples walking on the beach, an open-top small train carrying passengers, people in rowing boats, handheld shots taken from the open-top train, and people playing golf. Then there is a prolonged sequence depicting traffic in the town centre. There are cars, bicycles, and people passing the camera frequently. TITLE: Orphan Homes Carnival At Newlands Orphanage, dozens of children watch performances and go on rides at a carnival. The camera records children going down large slides, attempting the high jump, and doing cartwheels. There is also a brief performance from acrobatic clowns. TITLE: Sundry Shots The film ends with a collection of shots from various locations. There shots of an old seated couple, men and women playing bowls, families watching a game of cricket, and a town centre.
