This film consists of two separate parts, scenes from the opening of the new housing estate a West Bank, York, and a display of vehicles from the Premix company. Premix may have been involved in the building of the housing development, working with Bradley & Co. Ltd.
The first section of the film opens with scenes of a new housing development in York. There are many shots of the house exteriors, and the houses and streets have a dusting of snow on them. A street sign for Parkside Close can be seen. Many people have gathered and wonder around to view the houses. A vintage Rolls Royce arrives, and it is followed by other, more modern cars. A man directs one of the cars to a parking spot, and more people arrive as the crowd gathers on a sunny winter’s day.
The next section of the film features an auto display for Premix. It’s a sunny summer day, and a few have gathered for the outdoor event. There is a red Bedford van with a large long object on the roof and “Oliver” written on its side. There is also a red Co-op van. This is followed by a long line of blue Premix cement lorries. Dressed in brown overalls and overcoats, a group of men stand next to their lorries and pose for the camera. They chat by the trucks as the film comes to a close.
