The film starts with a shot of the advertising section of a newspaper. There is circle marked in the centre and the letters AYXH dotted around it. This is followed by the image of a giraffe’s head with glasses, long hair and sporting a big plastic nose.
There is a view over the North Bay at Scarborough with fishing boats in the harbour. A man repairs the wooden crates used to transport the fish while fishermen sort out their catch on their boats. Two lorries, with Groan Kippers written on the side, are parked close by. On the other side of the harbour, timber is unloaded from a ship. Other places in Scarborough are shown including the Rituda Museum, the Open Air Theatre in Northstead Manor Gardens. There is also footage of Pinky and Perky, children on trampolines, and Peasholme Park. The family play a game of crazy golf.
There is a parade with a uniformed band, and then a display by a motorcycle team. Later the family visits the zoo and the Spa before heading down to the shore where they inspect the rocks and look for crabs. There is a view of the South Bay Pool, and the family take in some sun before going on a boat trip along the coast. The film finishes with images of rough seas.
