Next, there is film of a journey by train, the train being pulled by a steam locomotive. Filmed form a carriage, it passes some Permanent Way workers working on the track and a nearby viaduct and Edale Station. They arrive at Matlock where two men walk across a wet road. There is a road sign (unable to make out), and a red sports car passes by. They visit Saint Giles’ Parish Church and High Tor Grounds, looking down on Matlock. They then go up Abraham Heights, again looking down from the top.
Title – “Trick Work” – A Dyson Film
This section opens with a child in a pram who is joined by a pet dog. A boy helps out in the garden, watering the plants. The filmmaker uses some trick photography as the boy bounces a ball. It has been filmed backwards so that the ball goes up.
Finally, there is a scene of a wood and Baitings Reservoir, showing the plaque marking its opening. Baitings Reservoir is a large water supply reservoir located near Ripponden in the West Yorkshire Pennines.
