This is one of many films made by amateur filmmaker John (Jack) Dyson of Leeds. This one was taken during a family camping in Scotland.
The film begins with the family camped by a river. Two boys are playing near a bridge, and there are sailboats on the river, possibly the Tay. They visit a small town, and the footage is filmed from the front of the car as it passes along winding country roads and around a loch.
The family stop for a picnic and admire the views while the boys play down by the loch. There is a sign for the Leven Loch Hotel. They then take a small ferry boat. Some of the local places and cattle are filmed.
They drive off and again stop for a picnic at the side of a road. Following this, the children play next to what looks like a holiday bungalow. Nearby some people are climbing some small cliffs.
Next the boys are on a beach with a bucket and spade and playing with a small dog. A man lights a pipe, and several go for a swim in the sea.
