This is a film made by Doug and Norah Brear that shows the repairs being done to their house, forcing them to move out, that have resulted from subsidence caused by coal mining. Title – Moving House A removal lorry is parked outside the semi-detached house of the Brears, as Doug and Norah move out temporarily while their house is repaired.  The damage to the walls is shown, and how much the floor slopes and doors open of their own accord.  An assessor takes notes of the damage and builders get to work taking up the flooring and removing all the fixtures and fittings, leaving just the shell.  There is a delivery of concrete bricks, and a diagram shows how they will go about raising the side of the house that has collapsed.  A concrete foundation is laid, upon which hydraulic jacks are used to raise the walls.  Then more concrete is used to make up the gap, and we see the cracks in the walls disappear and the floors now level.     Title - The End
