This is a film made by Doug and Norah Brear of a holiday to Split and Hvar in the former Yugoslavia. The film begins by showing a map of the former Yugoslavia and then a close-up map of Split, as well as photographs of the area. Title – In and Around Split ‘85 The film begins with a view of Split as seen from out at sea.  We then see the seafront, with the cafes, and around the city centre.  In the main square, there is a huge poster of Tito.  They wander around Split visiting the historic sights, the markets and monuments, and the narrow streets around the old part of the city.  There are close-ups of some of the women in the markets.  There are boats in the harbour and lorries coming off a ferry.  They take a boat trip out to the island of Hvar, which they show on a map.  They look over the harbour and take a guided tour, watching the fishermen, and visiting a church up a hill, passing women carrying large bundles of sticks on their backs, and visit a waterfall and caves. Intertitle – Folklr They film some traditional dancing with the dancers wearing traditional costumes.  There is another large square, again with a large poster of Tito, and lots of young people milling around.  The film finishes with more views of Split.
