This is a film made by Doug and Norah Brear of a holiday in Devon, with an informative commentary by Doug Brear.   Title - Chaseley Films Present Title - Interlaken Holiday 1963 Title - Photography D R Brear, Commentary N Brear An electric train arrives at a station in Italy, and we see the accommodation of the Briar’s, the Hotel Grand Mattenhof on the outskirts of the town, from which they have a view of the Jungfrau.  Norah wanders in the garden of the hotel and walk into Interlaken, looking at the shops and the horses and traps outside the railway station.  There is a traditional band playing and police directing traffic.  They go on a trip by coach to Grindlewald and take a chair lift up a mountain, passing Beghaus, with a view over a valley, and return.  Then they take a steamboat trip on Lake Thurnesee, passing Fiat, Trummelback, and stopping at Spiez, where they take a look around the castle.   They continue their trip around the lake, calling at some of the villages on the way, returning to their hotel at Wilderswil.  They watch local craftsmen making ornate timber frames for the houses. At Builderbig they take another mountain train, changing at Lauterbrunnen, up a rack and pinion railway, arriving at Jungfraujoch and walk along the snow-capped mountain top.  Norah poses holding the Swiss flag.  They next take a paddleboat steamer trip, on the Lotschhbeges, this time on Lake Brienzersee at Bonigen.  They stop to eat and visit Giessbach Falls and Brianz.  They take another mountain train journey, looking at the northern face of the Eiger, and the film finishes with them on a train, taking one last look at the Matterhof.
