There are buses parked up in Settle Market Square, some of them owned by the Huddersfield coach firm of Hanson. Women stand outside Hunts’ the jewellers. The coaches set off, supervised by policemen, and cars fill up at a petrol garage. They pass the Royal Oak Hotel, Shepard walker Chemists and ye Olde Naked Man.
