The family at a new larger rural looking home, parents (probably Cyril and Louie) seeing uniformed young adult children off to work or service and playing with various pets. It’s likely this is the family home located on the outskirts of Leeds.
A young man, two young boys and a girl are fixing and cleaning a red motorbike in a drive; an older man joins them and appears to offer advice. A lady walks over and joins the group looking over the bike puzzlingly.
The film cuts to a ginger cat, rolling around on the floor before running off into the garden.
The young man stands up, fixing up his military uniform, tightening belts and buttons next to the vibrant red bike, a young blonde girl looks up to him admiringly. The two younger boys appear to be cleaning the bike with little bushes before helping to push off the young man off on his bike down the country drive.
A young man (possibly Peter) in Royal Air Force uniform poses out the front of the house before setting off down the drive, his mother waving him off and a probable Father waves him off as he polishes the windscreen of his Austin Sport(registration plate BNW 738).
Shot of garden path, wire fencing lines one side and a vegetable allotment lines the other side.
Man and Woman of the house enter the Austin Sport parked in their drive.
A young German Shepard is seen playing with a branch as the older man seen in a previous scene works on a car in a garage. A young boy enters the yard and starts to pull the branch away from the dog playfully.
Two young women in a large garden, on a drive are having a conversation over a bicycle, they begin to act sheepish once they notice the cameras glare.
A young blonde girl is playing with kittens, holding one up to the camera. A young woman joins her and takes the kittens over to a window ledge, carefully removing a glass vase from the path of their destruction. A young boy joins them and places the vase back on the ledge and helps the others place all three of the kittens inside the vase. The two children and the young woman then run out into the yard with the kittens and their mother. A dog runs out to join them and once he settles and lies down the three kittens are placed on top of him, much to the disdain of the family dog. The kittens are then also introduced to the family pet budgie in its cage on the front step of the house. The young girl holds up the kitten once more to the camera.
In a different scene, the girl is now with two young boys all playing with the kitten on a stone wall. One of the boys in a redcap runs to a window of a house behind them. A young man is walking up the country road next to the children, he stops and poses for the camera. A man in a winter coat is doing some garden work clearing broken branches and leaves and shovelling them into a wheel barrow. He then poses with a hard earned smoke of a pipe before setting off up the path with the full wheel barrow.
