This film chronicles the first year of the family’s new-born Peter, showing him at different stages in his life at 9 weeks, 3, 4,5,6 and 7 months old.  Most of the footage is taken at the family home near Leeds.   Peter’s Mother is seen with Peter the baby in her arms out in a rural setting; she sits in a car and bounces him on her knee before taking him out again and swinging Peter beneath her legs.  Mother prepares baby Peter for bed, once lying down she feeds him some medicine.  In a dimly lit corridor, an older woman (possible grandma) is seen holding Peter and looking up to the camera. Father of the family (possibly Cyril) presents Peter with a bear as mother holds Peter, they then swap Peter and the bear. Title – 9 Weeks old (back ground of title is a still of baby Peter) Baby Peter is being held by a young woman and being smothered in kisses. Title – 3 Months old and rapidly losing his first hair Young family holding Peter, Peter lying on ground next to bed mother holding Peter up to baubles on a tree.  Title – 4 months old  Peter being held by his mother, she sits him on her lap playing with his fingers and toes. Brief of the probable grandmother now holding Peter. Title - 5 months old Various views of mother holding Peter in the car, Peter is wearing a one piece and a little beret. Title – 6 months old Various views of mother holding Peter in same outfit in the country side. Title – 7 months old Peter is sucking on a dummy, his mother pulls out his dummy and Peter smiles, wrapped up in several blankets on a sofa.  Peter in a pram being spoon fed, he has a head full of hair, half eaten baby food covering his face and bib.  In the country Peter and Mother are lying down on a blanket in tall grass next to a car.  Title – A larger cot Peter having outgrown his original one Two men are seen sanding down and assembling a large wooden cot in a yard. Mother helps Peter to try and walk on a flat country field, high grass surrounding them. Summer dressed they take a break in the long grass for a while, Cyril shortly joins them. Down by a canal Peter is seen in his mother’s arms walking down bridge steps, then walking along the canal side practising Peters walking.  Before taking him back to the car and sitting him on her lap for a moment and bouncing him up and down.
