This film begins with content of a family cricket game on a quiet country road, a rousing speech made to large crowd at an event in a park and finishes with footage of a boy opening presents on his birthday and playing a game of football with friends.
The film begins with a pickup truck parked diagonally across a country road, a family , two women, a man and a boy are playing cricket in the middle of the road, hedgerows and tall grass line each side of them.
A man in a suit approaches from the truck to the game of cricket, takes his turn at bat and loses the ball in the hedgerow. The group or family begin to go searching for the ball in the tall grass and bush as one of the ladies in the group lies in the grass, eyes closed enjoying the summer sun, and eventually she joins the gang in their search for the lost cricket ball in the thick bush. The family then return to the truck.
In a much larger yard and with more family involved the game continues family members range from toddlers to grand-parents.
Meanwhile in the adjacent yard a young woman feeds a rabbit in a hutch, before entering the building next to it.
A brief shot of a chimney and T.V aerial is followed by more views of the family game of cricket.
An older man and younger woman try and coerce the little toddler girl to having a go but her absolute disinterest becomes quickly apparent and they let her walk off and the game continues.
A young man is seen sat in a car driving down a country road.
Change of location – Unknown
Large crowd are sat on wooden chairs looking towards a stage where a man accompanied by a woman with a covered head appears to be making a rousing speech, views of the crowd show thumbs up, agreement and a small dog sat on someone’s lap.
Change of location – Unknown (appears to be the house where the family cricket game played)
A young boy sat on the ground with a ball on his lap is opening a present, with his birthday cards lined neatly on the grass around him. After opening the present he appears to get shy and look the other way. He then begins to play with his present a new toy gun. Views of the boy kicking the ball around the garden, the gun lying unused on the ground amongst birthday cards.
A close up of the boy throwing the ball in the air in a yard.
He is joined by two other boys and a young girl and they leave the yard together playing football in a different garden as an elderly woman watches from a window. A series of close ups of the faces of the children, followed by a close up of the elderly woman watching them through the window.
A family pile into a car, driving out of a large rustic looking yard waving goodbye to the family stood behind them.
A young woman is tending to a vase of flowers bathed in sunlight on a window sill, whilst young children play in the garden out front and a woman mows the lawn and clips the weeds.
