The film begins at the Birkenshaw Show in a field, starting with two marching bands and followed by a tug-of-war, showing a board advertising a dog show. Two young men walk along a street past the camera, while a woman is filmed outside her terraced house. Back at the show there is a display of parachutists, and horse and carts. There are many stalls, and a fair. A man gets into his car in a packed car park. It isn’t clear where the Birkenshaw Show ends and the Great Yorkshire Show begins, but we now see cows, race horses, and many large display marquees for top brands related to agricultural production and equipment. These include: Swift of Scarborough, Walter Gregory, Frank Lister Superwire, Adams Butter, and James Rutter. There is more livestock in the way of pigs, and a demonstration of a hydraulic excavator by Search of Leeds. There are marquees for International Harvesters, Bradshaw’s Royal Automobile Club and Yorkshire farmers. There are also different breeds of sheep and an exhibition of wool. We then see some goats before we see a motorcycle display team. This is followed by horses in stables and cows being milked, and finishing back at the car park.
