A woman pushes a wheelbarrow, accompanied by three small children. A bridge with towers and crenelated walls spans a river, and traffic including cars and bicycles cross over it. Simple buildings are seen beside the river and two people paddle a canoe along it.
A castle with conical towers is seen from above, with a coat of arms above the doorway. A woman enters through the stone archway and visitors explore the courtyards inside.
Examples of local ceramics and trinkets are shown, followed by men loading ovens to fire plates and other pottery. A man makes plates while another paints the fired ceramics by hand.

Women collect pails of water from an outside tap, above which a sign reads ‘Source du Rossignol’. People come and go along busy, narrow streets lined with shops and restaurants. Two nuns cross a car park towards a shallow rectangular pool where women wash clothes and bring laundry back and forth in wheelbarrows.
A car is parked by a customs checkpoint which flies the French flag.

Title - …of narrow twisting streets designed for peaceable lives
Narrow streets between houses are seen, at the end of which a priest in long black garments enters a simple church. Three-story houses sit in the shadow of a mountain behind.
