This is a film made by Mr D Walker of Beverley of a family outing to Wharfedale and of a demonstration by Mr Thersby of making Easter eggs.
The film begins showing fields near the River Wharfe covered in thick snow. The river is partly iced over. Later, with the snow gone, several mountain streams are shown. Two small girls throw stones into the river. There is a street sign for Hubberholme where the family visit St Michael and All Angels Church, looking at the stained glass windows. There is a grave stone for “John Dixon Daykin, who died on 26th March 1962 aged 76”.
The family get into their three-wheeler Reliant Robin and head off for Kettlewell, visiting the Buck Inn. They then visit Buckden, where they visit a farm with a pony and new born calves and piglets. They then drive on to Grassington, again doing a little tour of the village and the river, where there is a mill and a waterfall, before going to Bolton Abbey, walking across the stone steps. They look around the grounds of the Abbey. They then go to Ilkley Children’s paddling pool, where the children play. They film another section of the river where there is a mill and a waterfall and the film ends.
