The film begins with people in a large marquee where there is a children’s fancy dress competition. The first competitor is a boy in an outfit dotted with squares, and with a pennant which states “Happy thoughts for a happy day”. The children walk around in a parade, with some of the smaller ones holding the hands of their mothers. There is the usual assortment of impressive outfits, with the cowboy outfit popular among the boys. The contestants and their parents are then seen leaving the marquee on a blustery day. There is a brief view of a cake on a table inside the marquee. They have gathered in a field, where they are being addressed by a man with a microphone. In the background there is a factory and houses.
(overexposed). There is a men’s sprint race, wearing normal clothing, and the adults gather in a group for the camera, followed by the children doing the same, with one of the boys in a wheelchair. Again a man is addressing those assembled with a microphone, with several men lounging on the grass. There are more races of both men and women, before there is another group posing for the camera and the film comes to an end.
