The film begins with a man in a field speaking into a microphone to the spectators. The spectators then settle down in chairs at the side of the running track as a men’s sprint race takes place. A group of women stand next to some tables with refreshments which are placed in front of a couple of large tents. A group of women, and a man, form a line and pose for the camera, while another group of women stand behind some wooden crates upon which bottles of pop have been placed. People are milling around the field, with a clubhouse in the background, and there follows a men’s slow bicycle race, followed by a women’s sack race, and some larking about.
