The film begins showing St Mary’s Church at Welwick, and then the remains of a nearby semi-demolished building. This is followed by the war memorial on which are listed the names of those locals who were killed during the First World War. A group of mostly elderly ladies stand posing for the camera, followed by a group of children. There is also a group of men, who stand waiting outside some buildings. A woman runs past. A group of them then sit and stand for a formal picture. By now a large crowd has assembled, and they are addressed by several men stood outside the doors of a building, one of whom is presented with small flowers by two small girls. The doors of the building are opened and some enter.
