This is a film from a collection of home movies made by Jack Johnson of Pontefract.  It shows a family holiday in Belgium which is accompanied by a commentary by Mrs Johnson.  The film also includes a traction engine rally at Nostel Priory. The film begins with the commentary telling of Ostend, showing the beach and other places.  The soundtrack then features Cliff Richard singing ‘Summer Holiday ’as they take the coastal railway to Blasenberg, where there is go-cart racing.  Then to Bruges, with boats on a canal, the cathedral, and they take a boat trip.  They then take a train journey before going back to Ostende where they look around the market stalls.  After having a beer, they get the ferry back. The last part of the film features a traction engine rally at Nostel Priory.  There is a carousel, model airplanes, a dalek ride, and a ‘potato race’ with tractor engines.  People walk around to view the engines and vintage cars.  The food stalls are set up for tea, sandwiches, and pork pies.
