Title – Jack Johnson presents Volume three of his Yorkshire Scrapbook
The film begins in Leeds, showing various shots of the city centre including the City Hall, the Playhouse, a new road underpass, Leeds University, the Odeon Cinema, pedestrians in shopping areas, the Victorian Shopping Arcade, and a rooftop café. They then visit Harewood House, walking around the grounds, with Emma (aged 1 year) stroking a donkey.
There are shots of Pontefract city centre before it was pedestrianized. There is a regimented Battle of Britain parade which is watched by the Lord Mayor and army officers. The parade includes camouflaged army vehicles, soldiers and other servicemen, as well as their younger equivalents. The British Legion brings up the rear of the parade as they march to the war memorial to lay wreaths.
The Ackworth Village History Society visits Mary Lowther Hospital for the Poor, a derelict church, and Ackworth Quaker School where children are playing football in the school playground.
The last part of the film features galas at Nostell Priory, near Wakefield, and at Wentbridge house, near Pontefract. They include vintage vehicles, greyhound racing, and Tory Minister Anthony Barber in attendance, admiring vintage racing cars and vintage bicycles. There are also pony rides, stalls and games, and soldiers having a mock battle. There is a service for animal lovers at Ledston Hall, with children on ponies. A special service is held in the stables, with the singing of hymns. People bring their pets, and they take a look around the village. Lastly they visit Fairborn Ings, where children are feeding the swans.
