This is a film of family outings to the Yorkshire Dales, Blackpool, Morecombe and Ashgrove.
The film begins with a man and a dog on the bridge on the A6160. Here, a road sign for Grassington, Bolton Abbey and Appletreewick can be seen. The man, in a striped jacket, is next by the river with a woman, feeding the dog. They walk over a footbridge across the river, whilst another man makes his way over the stepping stones over the River Wharfe near Bolton Abbey. Next a group of children are on a pleasure boat going along a river. Two women pose for the camera in the garden of a house out in the Dales, joined by some children.
The next part of the film starts with trams which go along the seafront at Blackpool. A man switches the tram lines with a long pole. There is a brief shot of a pavilion and gardens with small animal statues. A crowd of people in a street are watching a large store on fire. There is a brief shot of a family gathering in a garden, and then a group of adults having a snowball fight in a garden in winter. The film switches again to show the Queen Mary being guided into dock by tugboats.
At a campsite, a man and a boy are having a wash outside their tent. This is followed by a shot of Morecambe beach and a family having a picnic on a cliff top (white cliffs). Down on the beach, they throw stones into the sea where two crews of boats are having a race. There is a packed outdoor swimming pool, with the Winter Gardens behind. Then the streamline coronation locomotive LMS 6221 is briefly shown as it passes pulling a passenger train. The film returns to the family gathering in a garden (Ashgrove), posing for the camera and the film comes to an end.
(Written on the film reel: Thomas, Mary, Kathleen? Ashgrove with Adams? Family)
