This film shows some of the activities of the Wings for Victory Week for Beverley and District during June, 1943.  It shows people buying government savings certificates and a march through the town centre. Title - Wings for Victory Beverley and District June 1943 The film begins with the Mayor, followed by an army officer, both addressing a crowd from the Market Square Cross.  Above them is a banner for Wings for Victory Week, May 29th to June 5th, with a target of £200,000.  The film moves to an indoor exhibition consisting of many model airplanes.  Then outside there is applause as the Mayor arrives, and they look at a board showing that 32,775 has been raised so far.  Around them are numerous posters advertising the Week and War Savings. They make their way to the co-ordinating room where money is being taken from members of the public, including several small girls, in return for war savings books.  Officers from several of the home front services look on. Outside, on a wet day, a parade of various uniformed groups, including the scouts, has formed front of a Spitfire plane in the Market Square.  The procession then makes its way off, including all army and civil personnel, through the town.  A float with a classical looking winged figure, with the slogan, ‘give him the wings to conquer’, makes its way over the railway level crossing.
