The film opens with two children walking out of their house and playing in the garden.  A shot of the exterior of the house is shown, followed by a backwards clip of the children walking out of the house and down the path holding hands.  They are then shown in a park playground playing on swings with their mother and on a roundabout. In the countryside the family enjoy walks together.  The daughter blows dandelions with her father and plays with her brother.  Near a stream, the family, accompanied by other relatives, play together and throw stones into the water.  The mother and children sit on the water's edge and splash their feet in the water together. The next shot is of a baby in a pram on the beach. The whole family is seen together sitting on the sand. Next, the grandmother, mother, and children walk down a country road.  This is followed by a shot of the little girl eating an ice cream sandwich in the garden. The Parkin family enjoy another trip to the seaside with more relatives.  This time they are seated on sand dunes on a windy day.  The children jump and play in the sand.  This sequence is intercut with a clip of the family on a stony beach, splashing on the shore.  Back on the dunes, the kids eat ice cream. The film closes with a man at a scout camp writing in a notebook.
