This is a film of students from Odsal House School for the Deaf in Bradford on a narrow boat trip along the Grand Union Canal. The film begins with the school bus parked on the hard shoulder of a motorway, and the children are sitting on the verge.  They are next on a narrow boat - ‘The Sandpiper’ hired from Willow Wren Hire Co. at Rugby Wharfe – going under some bridges on a canal, with a woman teacher piloting.  They pass through several locks on their journey.  Later a bearded teacher, presumably Mr Greenwood, takes over the steering.  They make their way down the Foxton Locks in Leicestershire on the Grand Union Canal, arriving at Foxton Bottom Lock and continuing their journey, passing a man fishing as the film comes to an end.
