This is the second part of a film made by an amateur filmmaker from Sheffield, Jean Gray, of her family on holiday in the Scilly Isles.
The second part begins with a look at a fishing vessel in a harbour, where they watch other small boats and the St Mary’s Lifeboat being pulled ashore. There is a noticeboard for Thompson Brother Motor Launches boat trips, including a circular trip of Bishop, which they take. They visit Bishop Rock lighthouse.
Back on the beach Peter and Julie build sandcastles while the others lounge on deckchairs. They then take a circular trip of the Eastern Isles. The camera focuses in on Bryer, marked on the noticeboard. Here they do a tour, highlighting the wild flowers and butterflies. The children have pop drinks and lollies. There is a notice board for ‘Sunshine Corner’ at 2.30 pm. Situated on a beach, a man gives a talk to the assembled children and adults. Taking the Golden Spray boat, they move on to St Martin’s Isle, again showing some of the coast and rocks. Their car gets loaded onto the ship for the return journey.
Back on the mainland they drive along a country road passing a sign for Worcestershire and arriving at Chipping Campden. Peter and Julie come down the back steps of the Noel Arms Hotel. They get into their car, and there is a road sign for Bourton-on-the-Water. They walk around the village and stay at the Old New Inn Hotel, visiting the model village. They drive on to Stow on the Wold before taking the A57 back to Sheffield.
