This is a film made by an amateur filmmaker from Sheffield, Jean Gray, of her family home and the area where he lives in Sheffield during the changing seasons.
The film begins with the garden at the family home, Moor View Cottage, Riverdale Road, Sheffield, covered in thick snow. So too are the surrounding trees. The same trees are then shown at the beginning of spring and again in summer. Flowers are filmed speeded up coming into bloom. There are more indoor flowers and plants and a gold fish bowl. The garden too is now full of pink flowers in bloom.
Then there is a sign for Whiteley Woods. In the park the flower beds are very colourful, and Julie and her friend feed the ducks in the pond. They continue through the wood, filming the squirrels. Back home their cat has given birth to kittens, two white ones, which manage to escape from their box and run around. With snow on the ground a young man, Peter without the beard, skates along an icy path and puts food into the bird feeder. With much more snow, a young woman, Julie with long black hair, goes into the garden with the dog and demonstrates just how deep the snow is. The car is completely covered. They go for a walk along a lane covered in very deep snow.
Back home in summer Julie plays with a small boy who crawls around and strokes the dog. Then father makes a bonfire with cut off branches and twigs. Later he collects apples from a tree. Then it is back to winter and the man out in the snow, before the film returns again to summer and picking apples, with Peter, now with a beard, helping by climbing the tree. Father dismantles an old greenhouse and a new conservatory is built in its place.
Back in the snow, mother wanders out into the garden where the birds are feeding. Peter is digging the snow away from under his car as the film comes to an abrupt end.
